Rena is happy to welcome her friend and colleague, Courtney Butler-Robinson, as a guest teacher in the online portal for this wonderful exploration of yoga and its many applications to health and wellness. This is a self-guided course, meaning you can complete it online completely at your convenience.

This six-hour course, "Yoga for Special Populations," covers a wide array of topics, including prevention, recovery, restoration and preservation of health and wellbeing. Many of the videos are in response to yoga teachers who have reached out to Courtney over the years for guidance with students who had illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, chronic pain, sciatica, and so much more.

Also included are practices Courtney created to help clients who needed something to practice from at home. In addition, there are helpful videos to assist you to live a happier and well balanced life, such as dealing with self esteem issues or other life stressors.

After viewing this course you will be able to understand more about the philosophy of yoga and how you can apply the many facets of the practice to increase the quality of your life and to those you serve.

Courtney Butler-Robinson

Courtney Butler Robinson, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, RYCT, RYPT, is also trained in Yoga of 12 Step Recovery (Y12SR) and in Prime of Life Yoga (POLY-500). Courtney is the author of “The Mud & The Lotus: A Guide and Workbook for Students of Yoga”. She works as the Stress Management Specialist for the Dr. Dean Ornish Reversal Clinic in intensive cardiac rehab and as a yoga therapist in Cancer Rehabilitation at Saline Wellness Heart Center, under the supervision of Dr. Allan B. Hatch, MD. She has owned Balance Yoga and Wellness yoga school training teachers at the 200, 300/500, and CYS since 2008. She has recently been featured on “The Connected Yoga Teacher Podcast” episode #89”, in “Yoga Therapy Today Magazine” and in various other online and print media.
